“Up until yesterday, the concept of escape rooms were foreign to me. However, I trusted my daughter’s encouragement, and joined her group of friends, along with my son. We entered the building and took the elevator to the 4th floor. There, we were warmly greeted by one of the employees and directed to the “check-in” desk. After completing the waiver, we hung our coats, and filled out some silly name tags for our game. We followed our room monitor into Sherlock Holmes’ Library. The room was brighter and more inviting than I thought it would be. We listened to a message from Sherlock, Watson recited the rules to the game, and the timer began. At first, I was a little confused, but it only took 2 minutes for me to jump right into this scavenger hunt/puzzle adventure.
The theme of the room carried through the entire game. The accompanied soundtrack really set the mood, and also provided 15-minute check-ins, so you didn’t have to keep watching the timer. The hints we earned were delivered perfectly, just enough information to get you on the right track without just giving you the answer. The entire experience was great, and even when you think it’s over, there’s still more!
We escaped with 20 seconds left on the clock and entered back into the lobby cheering! We reconvened for a photo, while still riding the wave of excitement that was our escape! The Great Escape Room provides a great experience you can share with friends and family. As a parent, I know how hard it can be to get your teenagers to “hang-out” with you, and put the phone down. In my opinion The Great Escape Room has solved this and they create a lasting, bonding, experience.”
